Gé Rén operates with a simple principle: personal information is used only for the purpose for which it was provided. Order information is used to prepare and deliver the requested analysis and support the related email follow-up process. Subscription information is used only to send communications that the subscriber has expressly agreed to receive.

This policy is written in clear, practical terms. If anything is unclear or if you have specific concerns, you are encouraged to contact us directly.

1. Information Collected

Gé Rén collects only the information reasonably needed to provide and administer the requested service.

When you submit an intake form, you may provide:

Birth time
Birth location
Current location
Gender
Selected Focus Areas
Employment Industry
Additional remarks or context

For communication purposes, you may also provide:

Email address
Optional identifier (nickname, initials, or anonymous ID)

If you choose to subscribe to Gé Rén updates, Gé Rén collects:

Email address
Subscription consent and subscription status

A name or other personal information is not required for website subscription.

At checkout, payment-related details are processed through Wix Payments. Gé Rén does not store or have direct access to your full payment information such as card numbers.

2. Purpose of Collection

Your information is collected and used only for the purpose for which it was provided.

For service orders, information is used to:

Prepare your requested BaZi analysis and deliver your report
Support the email follow-up process related to that order
Review the service request, payment, eligibility and any submitted coupon information

If you expressly subscribe to Gé Rén updates, your email address and subscription status are used to send notifications when new Blog posts are published, together with occasional newsletters, service updates and special offers. Subscription is separate from placing an order or making an enquiry, and you may unsubscribe at any time.

Gé Rén does not use order or enquiry information for marketing unless the individual has separately and expressly subscribed.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your information is stored within secure, industry-standard platforms used to operate the business:

Wix: website hosting, service information forms, subscription management and payment processing
Microsoft 365: email communication, business records and secure document storage

Gé Rén does not maintain independent or local databases outside these systems.

Reasonable technical and administrative safeguards are used to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no online system can guarantee absolute security, and this should be understood as part of using any internet-based service.

4. Data Sharing

Gé Rén does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

Your information is only accessible within the systems necessary to operate the service:

Wix: website hosting, forms, subscriptions and payments
Microsoft 365: email communication, business records and document handling

No additional third-party sharing occurs.

5. Data Retention

Gé Rén retains only the information necessary to operate its services. This includes:

Birth date, birth time, birth location, and gender
Email address
Communication records related to your order
Service request, order, payment status, and coupon records
Employment Industry, where provided
Subscription email address, consent and subscription status, where applicable

On birth information

Birth date, birth time, birth location, current location, and gender do not identify any specific individual. The same combination can apply to many people born under the same conditions.

Gé Rén does not treat birth information as personally identifying data and does not verify that any given set of birth details belongs to any particular individual.

Birth information may need to be retained as part of Gé Rén’s service and business records. Requests concerning access, correction or deletion will be considered according to the nature of the information, the purpose for which it is retained, and any applicable legal or contractual requirements.

On email and communication records

Email addresses and messages exchanged in connection with an order are retained as part of Gé Rén's normal business records.

These records support order fulfillment, service history, and — where necessary — the resolution of any question, concern, or dispute that may arise. Retention is kept to what is reasonably needed for these purposes.

Subscription records are retained while the subscription remains active and as reasonably necessary to maintain consent and unsubscribe records. Unsubscribing stops future subscription communications, subject to any message already being processed at the time of the request.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Request access to the information held about you
Request corrections if something is inaccurate
Raise questions or concerns about how your information is handled
Withdraw subscription consent and unsubscribe from future electronic communications

Where a request relates to data that can reasonably be updated or clarified (such as communication records), Gé Rén will work with you directly to address the concern.

Withdrawing subscription consent does not affect information that Gé Rén must reasonably retain in connection with an order, business record, legal obligation or previous communication.

7. Cookies and Website Data

The Gé Rén website is built on Wix and uses its default cookie and analytics systems.

These may include:

Basic functionality cookies required for the website to operate
Anonymous usage data to understand site performance

Gé Rén does not add additional tracking tools, advertising pixels, or external analytics systems beyond what Wix provides by default.

8. Minors and Report Subjects

Gé Rén seeks to minimize personal information about every report subject. The service information form does not require the report subject’s real name, address or direct contact information.

Where a report is requested for another person, the person submitting the request is responsible for ensuring that the information is provided lawfully and that any consent or authority required for the request has been obtained. Gé Rén may request clarification or decline a request where consent, authority, privacy or report-delivery arrangements are unclear.

9. Jurisdiction

Gé Rén Studio operates under the laws of Nova Scotia, Canada.

This policy is designed to align with the general principles of Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), including limited collection, appropriate use, and individual access rights.

This Privacy Policy reflects how Gé Rén currently operates as a small, privacy-first consultancy.

It is not a legal document prepared by a lawyer, and it is not intended to cover every possible technical or legal scenario. Instead, it is a clear and honest explanation of actual practices.
